Brilliant place for local history and to learn how to turn wood.
We really enjoyed our visit to the chair making museum a few months ago, and have since used some of the information we learned to help us better understand antique furniture while visiting museums & antique stores. The guide was very knowledgeable & generous with his time. It was a bit difficult to find the location due to out dated signage on the sign posts around town.
The place may be small but Robert is a grata guide and very passionate about his work and the history there . The art gallery in the top has some wonderful pieces in it .
Artists and craftspeople display a number of their designs for all to see. These vary from exquisitely crafted products in wood to produce many different designs such as bowls or in one case a large wooden leaf which looked magnificent. There are paintings, Jewellery, Decorated eggs, Art in Felt or Resin, Sculptures and Photography. To top all this is a Chair Museum depicting what was High Wycombe in its chair manufacturing heyday.
